Leeann Dearing in Will Ferrell movie “Everything Must Go”

Will Ferrell has been cast in a $10 million independently financed comedy called Everything Must Go.

The film features the directorial debut of Dan Rush (best known for directing funny commercials). He also penned the script, based on a Raymond Carver short story. The story is strong, and somewhat more dramatic than Ferrell’s past films. After losing his job and getting locked out of his house by his wife, Ferrell is faced with an a difficult challenge. His wife puts all his belongings on the front yard, and he must spend the next four days trying to sell off his possessions.

Alex B Ferrell was impressed by his meetings with Rush and signed on for a project that will be funded with private equity. “Will is one of the best at making an audience sympathize with a character’s ordeal, and the blending and comedy in this script will show a side of him that we haven’t really seen before,” said producer Marty Bowen.

Local actress Leeann Dearing secured a small role in Ferrell’s new project. She was most recently seen on the Superbowl Commercial, starring alongside Danica Patrick for “GoDaddy”. Dearing says “It’s great to see local talent doing projects like this. Arizona actors are making a name for themselves as a source for talent…and they deserve the recognition.”

Look for “Everything Must Go” in theaters next year.

Matthew and Leeann Dearing in local art house thriller “Crushed Velvet”

Local production company Victory Angel Films is gearing up to produce “Crushed Velvet” with Ron Jeremy and Laurie Love. Talented director Brian Skiba has produced films such as “Blood Moon Rising” (2009), “To Hell We Ride” (2009) and “Dead Time” (2008). He’s made a name for himself in the thriller/horror genre and is getting ready to do it again.

“Crushed Velvet”, an art house thriller, is casting numerous local actors, including (husband and wife team) Matthew and Leeann Dearing. Matthew is set to play Zander, the over-the-top television host, while Leeann takes on Terry Shady, an aggressive attorney.
