[FEMALE ENSEMBLE] early 20s to understudy the principal role of ELLE WOODS. Looking for EXCELLENT singers with sharp comic skills and movement ability.  MUST have an excellent high belt.

[FEMALE SWING] 20s-30s to cover several roles.  Must be an EXCELLENT trained, athletic dancer who sings well.  Any ethnicity.

NOTE:  We are ONLY seeking the above roles at this time.  No others will be seen at this call.  Please do NOT attend this call if you don’t sing.

Please be prepared to dance.  Wear sneakers and cute, stylish, comfortable athletic clothing – NO leotards & tights, no dance shoes.  Prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo pop belt song with sheet music in the correct key.  Bring your book in case you are asked for an additional selection. Dave Clemmons Casting will hold auditions for the 2010-2011 national tour of              ‘Swonderful.Rehearsals begin late August 2010, opens on or about September 25th 2010 and is booked through March 2011.

Seeking male actor/singers 18 and up, who dance well.

SEEKING:

[MALE SWING] to cover both male roles (HAROLD and GENE).  Strong singer/actor who dances well, charming and likeable, with good comic timing and physical comedy. Tenor/Baritone.

Please prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show (20s-30s-40s musical theatre/standards, e.g. , Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, Noel Coward, etc.), and bring a contrasting piece in case you are asked for an additional selection.  Accompanist will be provided.  Must have sheet music in the correct key.  ABSOLUTELY NO POP/ROCK OR CONTEMPORARY MUSICAL THEATRE (PLEASE NO Sondheim, Tesori, Lloyd Webber, Boublil/Schönberg, Wildhorn, etc.)  Please bring picture and resume, stapled together.  Be prepared to dance.  All positions paid. Cats-Eye LLC will hold an open call for the 2010-2011 National Tour of CATS.  Rehearsals begin early September 2010.

Seeking:

[Rum Tum Tugger] Male, 20s-30s, Rock Star, Mick Jagger type.  Iconoclast, rebel, loves the ladies.  Excellent rock singer with falsetto.  Must move well.

[Grizabella] Female.  EXCELLENT belter to E-flat (sings “Memory”) and strong actress.  Outcast, was a Glamour Cat in her early years but left the tribe in disgrace.

[Munkustrap] Male, 5’11” and up, 20s-early 30s, Excellent Baritone/Tenor to a legit G.  The prince of the tribe, youthful, attractive.  Must move very well.

[Demeter] Female, 5’7”-5’8”, strong dancer, strong singer w/ belt/mix to C.  Sexy but insecure and skittish, fearful.

[Female Swing] Wide Range of height, but must have an athletic build. Must be proficient in Jazz, Ballet and Tap and able to sing well.   Strong tumbling skills a plus.

[Male Swing] Wide Range of height, but must have an athletic build. Must be proficient in Jazz, Ballet and Tap and able to sing well.   Strong tumbling skills a plus.

Please prepare 16 bars of an appropriate Musical Theatre selection (for Tugger, please prepare a rock song) and bring your book in case you are asked to sing another selection.  Bring a Picture/Resume and sheet music in the appropriate key.  Accompanist will be provided. Dave Clemmons Casting will hold an open call for the 2010-2011 National Tour of Fiddler on the Roof.  Rehearsals begin o/a August 30, 2010.

Seeking:

[GOLDE] Female to play 35 to 55 . Dairy farmer’s wife.  Looks older than her age from the hard lifestyle. Strong willed.  A disciplinarian. Able to convey a command with a look or a clap of the hands.

[LAZAR WOLF] Male to play 50-60.  Town butcher, wealthiest man in town. Strong and big in stature. A widower.  A sense of the finer things in life but a bit crude in presence due to the nature of his work. Will understudy the role of TEVYE.

[MOTEL] Male 18+ to play 20s.  A tailor. Thin and lanky. Very quiet & reserved in his manner.  A hard worker striving to make ends meet to support himself and marry Tzeitel.  Baritone-Tenor.

[SASHA] Male 18+ to play 20s.  Russian peasant, singer/dancer, solid build.  Will understudy FYEDKA — Enjoys reading and has a very gentle manner. Displays a sense of respect for people, including those of the Jewish community.  Has very strong feelings for Chava.  Excellent Tenor.

[NACHUM] Male 18+ to play 20s. Will understudy PERCHIK — A student and revolutionary who has his own ideas about the problems of the world and his people, and has the answers to solve them.  Attracted to Hodel and the intellectual challenge she presents. Baritone.

[LABEL] Male to play 40s. One of THE PAPAS.  Will understudy CONSTABLE — The local law official.  Very much a peasant himself, with a sense of duty to his job.  Treats all with equal respect, but considers himself a cut above the rest (most notably the Jewish population) due to the uniform he wears.

[MAMA] Female to play 35 to 55 . Will understudy GOLDE — Dairy farmer’s wife.  Looks older than her age from the hard lifestyle. Strong willed.  A disciplinarian. Able to convey a command with a look or a clap of the hands.
